well, I'm pulling my entry out from the competition. ^-^
Same prizes, no point.
Will post my final product here anyway though.

Anyone not on the front page with their progress who want to/ought to be there?
Please fill out this form:

forum username: (tzu!)
idea for entry: (gwen rides reindeer)
genre of art: (manga drawing)
link to progress gallery: (check out "register here" on front page if you havent already)

and post it here so I can put you up there!

IF no one shows any interest for the Prose category, I'm going to break that award down and use the prize pool elsewhere!

Ooo that tonic looks awesome fun!

I'll be doing something other than 3D for this contest.
Hope it will be nice.

I actually have an idea, just because I want an excuse to draw Farai in Norn armor and also in the desert XD

Snow. In Vabbi. Where normally it would probably never snow.

Either that, or I'm going to draw something with Dwayna.

Or maybe she'll be in the Vabbian scene.

Yes.

So unless Tzu or YSJ convinces me otherwise, I might not bother.

Outcast, go for it if you think you will enjoy the process. I consider myself a poor artist, but I'm treating this workshop and the art contest as a motivator for me to improve my skills. I don't expect to be anywhere near the standard of art that sees any kind of reward. All I'm looking to get out of this is my personal satisfaction of finishing something and seeing my skills improve (although I won't say no if offered a reward :P). Give it a go - you might surprise yourself.

@stouda: That's an awesome Grentch!

Here's another update. I decided to use Carol of the Bells in the ending (Thanks for the suggestion, Tzu!), and I changed the second half of Ascension Song to Factions music. http://picosong.com/wVs

WOAWWW im impressed with most of these, i think ill give it a shot even if i have just recieved my art book today.
Not very original but im thinking a series of comic strips of a comic book. Im not brilliant at drawing but i recon it will give mine its own little edge. I have quite a few ideas so im may have a vote on which is my best peice.

Progress for today:

Still need to make some sort of headgear for the Gwen. I'm thinking a Rudi Mask that my son can use too. Or mini 2005 horns.

@Outcast02: enter for the fun of it! I bet you'll learn some and evolve from it! To me, my entry is really poor, but it was fun to make ^^

@stouda01:That is awesome! :O

@Shewmake: that'a such a nice composition! I like how it sounds wintery but not christmasy :3

@Kiya: I like how the Christmas colors turned out on Gwen, + the ornaments are awesome (especially the victory token!)

@Gemini: Thanks!

Here's a few 5 second thumbnails, with an even more hastly done Photoshop tag and fill:

I'm having debates over which is better (the kitchen scene with the cookies on the platter, or the cookies next to the tree with the lights shining on them in a festive mood). Since the main focus - the cookies - are the same in both pictures, it probably wont be hard transitioning between the scenes, so I might end up doing both. My drawing (and Photoshop) skills are not the best, so I tend to go the photography route, so that's what I'm hoping my finished product will be (yet, I'll make the cookies myself and if I really get in the mood, I might even go into metalworks and make the cookie cutters). One problem I might have is that the final platter is too bare, even with the 8 cookies (doubtful), so I anticipate making at least 3 of each cookie, that way I can fill up the platter and have back-ups in case I mess one up (or get hungry).

I hope for some good feedback and constructive criticism!

Dibs on the idea(s)!

@stouda01 - Whoa! Very creative, I love the expression. Very nice work on the pencil sketch as well!

@Kiya - Yours are always my favorite entries. I live Gwen and her Mini Moa, absolutely exquisite work!

@ Frozen Ele - I would definitely lean more towards the cookies next to the tree. It's far more festive in my opinion.

Here's an update to mine, relatively small one. Still having trouble figuring out how to work the ground clutter into the snow though. :/ Oh, and ignore the blackness over the foreground tree, that's just a layer I forgot to turn off. >_<

And Tzu, could you add this link as my Progress Gallery? Thank you!

Disregard that, I found someone that actually wants the tonic. I might enter after all and give the tonic if I win <<
